Yachts
Strict laws govern the entry of yachts into Fiji. Yachtsmen for the most part are experienced in such requirements and know they must first clear in a designated port of entry. In Fiji, these are Suva, Lautoka, Levuka and Savusavu. Yachts are cleared by Health, Immigration, Customs and Quarantine. Yachtsmen and women are then free to enjoy their stay except that they are required to obtain permission in writing if they intend to visit the outer islands, especially in the eastern region of Fiji.

Initially a foreign yacht would be given immigration clearance for stay a of 4 months. This can be extended upon application of up to a maximum period of 12 months.

Immigration officials will advise the procedure to follow in making an appropriate application.
